Educational Support

The Fan Makers fund two significant awards in support of education in our allied trades. The Worshipful Company of Fan Makers’ Award at the Royal College of Arts is given to the student who makes an outstanding contribution to printed textiles. The Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers awards the Fan Makers’ Bursary to a student who would otherwise not be able to study a degree course in a related subject.

The Company has supported specific projects at the Lansbury Lawrence School in Poplar for many years. This year, the primary school will have a play house and children’s’ outdoor wet weather clothes, which it would otherwise not have had.

At secondary school level, the company supports a prize at the City of London Academy in Bermondsey.
