Inter-Livery Clay Shoot - 2010

The 17th Inter Livery Clay Shoot will be held at the Holland and Holland Shooting Grounds in Northwood, Middlesex on Wednesday 19th May 2010. Details of the day’s format can be found on the event website interliveryshoot.com.

The cost per individual has been held at last year’s amount of £155.00p. This includes insurance, parking, a breakfast on arrival, morning coffee, entry to the 10 stands (80 birds) and an 80-bird flush shoot, cartridges and clays, a buffet lunch including hog roast, and, if required, the use of a shooting ground gun at each stand. Non-shooters are welcome at a charge of £45.00p, which includes the price of lunch. All standards of shot are welcome.

A challenging but above all else a fun day-out, the shoot is always well supported by the city livery companies (over 100 teams representing 58 livery companies in 2009). The Worshipful Company of Fan Makers has entered at least one team (four guns) each year since its first entry in 1996. This non-profit making event is organized by Chris Parr, Court Assistant with the Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners; with the intention of raising money for charity (the 2009 event raised £6,200 for various charities).

Cash prizes, to be donated to the charities of their choosing, will be presented to the 1st, 16th, 26th, 36th, 46th placed teams, the top gun, top lady gun, highest flush, highest non livery team, and the best ‘side by side’ individual and team. The Horner’s Prize is awarded to the highest placed team consisting of a minimum of two Past Masters or present Master and members of the court.

The Worshipful Company of Fan Makers’ Shooting Society hopes to enter at least 3 teams for this year’s event. Guest shooters are very welcome. The Bodin Cup will be awarded at the end of the day’s shooting to the highest scoring Fan Maker. John Naylor has held the trophy for the past two years.
