The Company welcomes expressions of interest in joining the Livery. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the City and its heritage, looking to contribute to the social and charitable activities of the Company. One of the strengths of the Fan Makers is the diversity of professions and backgrounds found in the membership.
Entry is by interview with the Master and other members of the Court and if successful, joining as a Freeman of the Company.
For those wishing to progress within the Company the next step is to obtain the Freedom of the City of London, which is awarded at Guildhall. Once the Freedom has been received, a Freeman is eligible become a Liveryman of the Company.
Enquiries regarding membership should be directed the Clerk who can provide more information on the process and introductions.
There is a one off joining fee, and an annual subscription. The annual subscription for Liveryman in 2025 is £448, the fee is lower for Freemen. Members are also xpected also to contribute to the charitable fund.
